Arlington was always going to be my first choice when I finally get around to trying D. R. Harris, but this review has given me pause…
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Matthew - I've never tried Arlington, but I've heard very good things about it. If you do end up ordering it, your comments and impressions would be very welcome!

1912 Club Cola (Wickham Soap Co.) a tall glass of cola with a lemon wedge

I usually steer clear of fragrances that smell like food. They do something funny to my tongue. I get a dry bitter taste that ruins the pleasure of the scent. But Club Cola is different. When I smell this soap, I get a fizzy sensation on my tongue, just like it were a real glass of Pepsi. Neat trick. Wickham’s scents are fast becoming favorites. I haven’t found one I don’t like, while Cashmere and Citrus Musk are among my top soap scents ever.

1912 is a vegan soap, so not a drop of tallow or lanolin. But it lathers nicely with just a bit of water and holds together fairly well. I got three easy passes today. The first two were thick and creamy. The last reminded me of the foam on the top of glass of soda. The lather remained glossy slick, almost mucilaginous, but not quite as protective as a tallow soap. I ended up with a couple of light weepers. But the butters and allantoin left me with a crisp smooth feel. I was about to reach for some balm, but decided it wasn’t really needed.
