What soap/cream did you use today?

I liked and wondered and pondered about this soap for way too long.  Stirling is a great performer and the blue appearance of this flavor was appealing.  So…….I bought it and it’s………….pleasant.  It’s nice and unassuming.  It’s not offensive.  Its performance is predictably good.  But as far as scents that speak to me, this one offers no mental trips or adolescent reminders, or noggin-tickling notes.  It just IS.  Now I get it, some gents love this flavor and by no means am I insinuating their olfactory apparatus is broken.  Live like you gotta live baby!  But Island Man is a soap that if a son comes to steal from the horde I’d be happy for him to choose this one.  In fact I may have to nudge one of them to drag it home.  I’ve too many others that tickle me to spend time with something that doesn’t.  That wee brush in the big green tub though, felt like a dingy in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

I love this soap, Adrian. The combination of bergamot and clarysage is so uplifting and relaxing at the same time. This could very easily be my desert island soap.

Today’s first pass was the smoothest I’ve ever had. The Edwin Jagger slid over my skin like a shearwater riding the crest of the waves. I was in heaven. And then I realized I hadn’t put a blade in the razor. I’ll tell you what, ol’ Bouki’s not too swift any more, but at least he has enough good sense left to stick with this tub of Spitfire. Yup, it smells good, and that’s definitely making it easy to come back to this soap day after day. But let me tell you, the lather is no sloucher either. Well watered, this soap is as slick as a fish in the bathtub, even when you remember to put the blade in the razor.

Lemme ask a question: which brush eats the most soap, badger, boar, or synth?

So far, the 30mm cashmere synth has taken the crown.  It tends to eat up just a bit more than the 28mm boar.  I haven't tried a badger yet but maybe i'll use it tomorrow.  BTW, i followed your lead and mashed up the ring into the center of the tub...makes loading much easier!
