Stella Alpina (Saponificio Varesino) balsam eucalyptus
Shave 32 ・ 52% left

As the wind blows down from the tree-clad hills each morning, the unmistakable scent of eucalyptus fills my shack. It brightens my thoughts and clears my head, and on tense days it may even soothe my stress. Eucalyptus oil is composed of three primary essential oils – cineole, pinene, and limonene – that blend harmoniously to create an pungent yet uplifting fragrance. Cineole gives eucalyptus its fresh, minty, and slightly spicy aroma, with a hint of camphor. Pinene, a terpene found in eucalyptus, pine trees, and rosemary, has a refreshing piney aroma with a whiff of citrus. Limonene has a fresh, zesty, and citrusy aroma reminiscent of lemon and oranges. Taken together they smell invigorating, uplifting, refreshing, and they give Stella Alpina its unique cough drop aroma. I’m a sucker for apothecary smells, so that’s why I think this is my favorite of all Saponificio Varesino’s many fragrances. One sniff makes my scalp tingle.
