Krokos is on its own today.  Five days ago my first impression was that Krokos left me with very good post shave skin feel.  Now I'm looking to see if I still think that way.  The first 15 or so minutes my skin felt a bit dry, but now that feeling has been replaced with supple and smooth skin.  We'll see how the day progresses.  I will say one thing, the scent is awesome.

Laureato (Abbate y La Mantia) lemon laurel
Shave 1 ・ 150 g left

I piffed my first tin of Laureato after a dozen shaves. I bought it back around the end of 2019. I believe it was made by Tcheon Fung Sing. I loved the scent, a fresh lemony laurel that took me back to Positano, but the lather lacked body and cushion. TommyCarioca and Dave in KY, I think you all arrived at the same conclusion. And zaclikestoshave, I agree, the TFS base is a bit thin and drying. Good to see that great minds think alike.

Today is the inaugural shave with my second tin of Laureato, and my, how things have changed. A few years back Abbate y La Mantia found a new soap cooker. Their new base is softer and creamier than the TFS base, but just as fragrant. It loads easily, and most important, it makes a much better lather. While not as thick and protective as a tallow-based soap, it’s slick enough and it gives good cushion for a safe shave. Now one thing to keep in mind, as AlphaFrank75 mentioned earlier today, Abbate y La Mantia soaps tend to finish dry at first, but as the hours pass the Shea butter kicks in and the result is fine supple skin. I think this tub of Laureato is going to be a keeper.

My favorite shave soap scent, numero uno, top 5 base, great packaging and post shave finish. I have been stock piling these babies. And the new base has this flavor available, with an AFS. YES, a great, great fougère.

Paired with Profumum's Vetta EDP. A green bitter Galbanum bomb, kinda like the soap. May have to lather this weekly.

A week on the road with a tub of WSP Green Irish Tweed dupe.  The Formula T is good but it was good getting home for a few days so this morning I busted out a puck of Trumpers Violet soap.  Yeah, I know.  Sounds pretty grandma but I swear it’s not.  It’s floral for sure but I dig it.  This is an old formula that lathers and lasts and offers protection and slickness and really creamy lather that the new formula can’t match.
