A&E states this scent is homage to some drink.  I would never swaller a drink that smelled like this but wow I do like the scent.  It has that slightly skunky scent of a skunk trailing along the river bottom in the morning.  Odd that anyone would like it?  I suppose but hey, this old farm kid loves it.  The performance of this soap hasn’t improved too much but I’m getting better lathers by huge overloads. Lather still tends to dissipate way too quickly but the slickness is great. I get great shaves from it but for me this one is all about the scent.

Great to see that jar of Fougère again! And, my, you do get a good looking lather out of it. How many swirls does it take to load your brush?

Actually, that was a very quick 15 to 20 swirls (I was running late...again).  I did "bloom" for about 5 seconds but I find that helps tremendously when only loading a little bit of soap.

A big +1 for @"vtmax "'s comment the other day on Oaken Lab.  Truly a great lather that just doesn't get talked about much

Rendevous (Ethos) trees by the water
Shave 4 ・ 130 g left

Rendevous’ light woody scent takes me to the aspen groves in the high country. I can smell the cool air blowing down from the north turning the trembling leaves gold. Surprisingly a whiff of lemon leads out, but it’s not a bright spring-like citrus. Rather, it’s been tempered by a big pinch of pepper that gives it all a sunny–dusty feel. That’s followed by spicy birch, apple, and cedar – true autumn notes. A joy to use on a cool fall morning, Rendevous just may become my soap of the month.
