I decided to work from home today and had an early afternoon shower/shave to refresh myself before a mid-afternoon Zoom meeting.  The worst part of today's Zoom meeting???  No one was able to get a whiff of this awesome scent!

Vetiver (Mike’s Natural Soaps) nutty vetiver
Shave 25 ・ 113 g left

They call vetiver ‘poor man’s oud’. Like agar wood, vetiver root yields a complex scent that comes at you from all sides: dirt, rust, citrus, grass, cedar, tobacco, fruit ... you name it, it's all in there. The really good stuff smells both clean and dirty at the same time. Nearly everyone agrees vetiver suits a man better than a woman. I’ve never caught Mrs Bouki wearing a strong vetiver scent, but she absolutely loves on me. So to put a little grin on her face today, I gave myself a dowsing of Encre Noir, a cheap but remarkably rewarding cypress-and-vetiver fragrance that will ride with you all day and well into the night. Smiles all around.

...and....
I absolutely love this scent.  It’s unassuming and pleasant. It’s like a solid rhythm guitar player, not hunting the spotlight, just doing the work.  Easy to load. Slick and protective.  And holding a hard puck in one hand and a brush in the other is my jam!

This tub of Hungarian Lavender is going to last forever, and I’m going to enjoy every shave. For me Mike’s is the epitome of yogurt lather. It comes out thick and slick, just what I want when the weather gets warm. But at the same time, it isn’t gooey or over oily so I don’t feel like I need to squeegee my face a couple hours after shaving.
