Shave 13 ・ 28 g left

This Fortis-base soap makes a pretty nice lather, but it’s not the sumptuous, gluey face-yogurt that adrian.suta and HoosierShave have been whipping up lately. In fact, it really doesn’t take a lot of water, and even though it’s fairly slick, I still get a fair bit of irritation from time to time, especially with a fresh blade. Might be time to let this one rest for a spell.

Hopefully a few days off will clear it up.  And when you do use it again, grab a 30mm knot and load like there's no tomorrow.  With only 28 grams left, you might be able to knock Le Vetiver out in less than a week Happy2

My choice of splash was the main reason I went with Spanish Fern this morning.  If you're a fan of Brut, Master Creations has a very nice dupe in their Vintage Faberge.  Plus, teh scent lasts much longer Brut

Kilix (Joserra) woody floral
Shave 1 ・ 110 g left

Kilix is loaded with heliotrope, iris, and cedar. There’s also a dab of cardamom, which seems to pop up in lots of Spanish soaps. Altogether they make a warm woody-floral fragrance that smells very much like Noble Otter’s Hammami. Joserra imagines this is what the ancient Greeks or Romans would have liked to smell like. Hmmm. Going to have to think about that one.

A&E Vacanza Romana. Why? Because A&E says this is a "woody chypre, which epitomizes Italian class, style and sophistication".  That's why.  It's also just a great soap and a pleasant mix of citrus, bergamot, mint, basil, and, for me, tobacco.  Tub almost gone, which, for me, says something.

I only recently stumbled onto Toscana Factory Lab.  These are pricey suds from a new-to-me artisan, so I'm both glad and relieved that today's maiden voyage was splendid - scent and all aspects of performance were absolutely as good as it gets, including post shave.  I slapped on some refreshing witch hazel out of habit, but it really wasn't needed.  And BTW, many will be pleased to know that it is vegan.

Round 1 was a decisive win for Dante.  We will see what the future holds.

Glad to know you skipped the Inferno and Purgatory....
