How many soaps would there be in your ideal rotation? Seven? A dozen? One for each day of the month? After consulting my spreadsheet over the course of several days – all the while chanting my Sanskrit shave mantra मम अधिकं साबुनस्य आवश्यकता नास्ति ("I really don't need more soap.") – I’ve settled on just three: Wholly Kaw’s La Fougère Parfaite, Barrister & Mann’s Bay Rum, and Joserra’s Urdaneta. Each is a stellar performer, and between the three I can cover all the major scent categories from fruits to flowers and from herbs to spices. Of course from time to time the other soaps in my collection will make guest appearances, but for the next six months or so, I’m going to dive deep into these three tubs in a quest to discover their beauties and unlock their mysteries.

What three soaps would you pick?

Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,356

Perhaps you saw yesterdays debacle where the horse of a razor threw me after a couple bucks. I attribute it to a little unawake and a LOT the Blade choice (Shark Platinum) which is a blade brand fine in other razors but may have been a dud from the pack. I've heard they can be hit and miss. Great soap base and scent !!

To prove my theory I decided I should give the same razor another chance the next day with my injuries still in healing mode and see what happens. Some say that's pushing it but I wanted to prove my theory......and I can be stubborn too......

I debated it all day yesterday while the razor sat on the shelf mocking me.

I really had no more blood at the end of the video and the rest of the day and was just hoping if I shaved with it the next day and filmed it that it wouldn't reopen the wounds enough to be off putting again. Figured why not give it a shot.....

I knew I had used this razor before and while not the smoothest, it wasn't bad and gave a decent shave. Here's the follow up shave the next day......

I purchased some of the new GroomingDept soaps the other day and it’s been a while since using one.  Wondering if I had an extra jar not given to family and found a new one deep in the den wrapped tightly in the cool, dark closet. The sweet fig is wonderful in this soap. Not sure which formulation this is but it performed beautifully.
