I haven’t found time to sneeze in the last couple of days so this mornings shave was so very good! It seems to me that the shave after a few days growth is always tight to the deck and this one worked out that way too.  The lather was provided by a potassium palmate first Trumpers in Violet.  The Blackbird mowed it all down in two passes.  One interesting note though; when I pay attention to the scent it is pretty straight forward green violets but why is it that as I shave I keep thinking “motor oil”?  Pretty sure there is no motor oil note in the mix and I sure don’t get that if I pay attention to the scent but when my mind wanders I get a motor oil note.

Soft creamy woods in this one. Will never find me complaining about that.

Talent Soap Factory - Glazed Donut

This soap was described to me as smelling very much like a Krispy Kreme donut. We only had a Krispy Kreme here for a short time, but to my best recollection, it is pretty spot on.

The soap performance was good, doing its job quite well. A wonderful, decadent shave was had.

Have a good evening folks![Image: 555aaaa3c7cd79dd204bf3945467f3aa.jpg]

I do like donuts but for heavens sake I couldn’t shave with one.  I gain weight sniffing cookies!  Hahahaha. A couple of years back so one was making bacon scented shaving soap.  Donuts make sense..

That artwork has always appealed to me.

I don’t believe I’ve tried the Soft Heart base before but wow is it wonderful!  With Omnibus on deck now it looks like this will be my only chance with Soft Heart.  I can tell you that the artwork on the label is not appealing to me but the scent of Rhapsody is so I picked the tub up.  I have Rhapsody in a Glissant base and these two compared are pretty dissimilar.  The Glissant has more of the heavy pear blossom. The Soft Heart has more wood bleeding though.  Don’t get me wrong, blindfold me and I’m identifying both as Rhapsody but they are dissimilar from each other.  Haven’t decided which I like best.  Perhaps I’ll just enjoy them both and not think about it too hard?  Add to that the Aftershave is different than both of them and I can report I like both soaps better although the aftershave dry down really brings forth some sandalwood which is nice.
