Below how my homemade soap lathered one day after it was made .

A dime sized portion was used.

Excellent lather and my skin felt soft and moist after the shave .

Davey, so how is that Fougere? Is it Bouki worthy?

Tommy, I'm a terrible judge. I enjoyed it for sure but only Bouki could tell if it is Bouki worthy Big Grin

Clay Face

Fresco (Ethos) lime basil & mint
Shave 5 ・ 130 g left

This is my fourth consecutive shave with Fresco, and my skin has never felt better. Recently I’ve been bothered by welts and blistery things that welled up eight to ten hours after the actual scraping. I don’t know what caused them really, but they were a nuisance that seemed to plague me no matter what products I used. But ever since I picked up Ethos F-base, they’ve finally disappeared. I can't say what happened exactly. All I can say is, Frank, thanks very much! I should give some credit, too, to the mild razors I’ve been using (Henson AL13, Karve Overlander, Gillette Tech) and to the ever reliable Astra Superior Platinum blades. But still, I think the soap is main reason for my relief. The only thing that concerns me is this: now that I've pampered myself in such sublime lather, how will I ever go back to my old soaps and creams?

UPDATE:  Sudsy Soapery Rose and Black Pepper

There has been some discussion among NeroTommyCarioca,  and me as to whether this soap is heavily pepper forward or heavily rose forward.  Nero's jar is rose forward with not much pepper, whereas Tommy's and mine are pepper forward with not much rose.  We discussed whether we had different batches, which I personally still think is possible, but the plot has thickened in my neck of the woods.

I sent some R&BP samples to friends on Friday, and curiosity led me to gather the samples by excavating straight down into the puck.  This is not something I normally do.  Anyway, we have a lot happening at home right now, and I was really rushing and tired, so I put the puck aside and forgot about it.  When I went to put it away earlier tonight, out of the excavation arose a delightful rose forward scent, along with an almost too subtle hint of pepper.  Sound familiar Nero?  OTOH the top of the puck was still very pepper forward.

From my amateur vantage point, looking from the outside in, it seems that the ingredients are not being blended and homogenized as intended.  Either that, or they are not staying blended and homogenized.  I have not yet reached out to Jonathan & Kaycie, but I plan to do so shortly after making this post.

Ariana & Evans - Apricity (K2e)

I have lots of success with A&E bases, but not with their scents (mostly bc they're usually synthetic/candleshop fragrances)... this scent is not that great either, but it's not very strong, especially once lathered.

I’m glad it’s working for you. I add skin beneficial ingredients into 95% of my products that focus on the Dermis layer of the skin while also addressing the epidermis layer as well. Just for experimental purposes I’m going to send you a dropper bottle full of these ingredients. So try adding a few drops into your shaving bowl using your other favorite shave soaps and see if it makes a difference. You can also add up to 3% into your aftershaves.

Thank you!
