Does the maple scent come through very heavily on this one?  For some reason, it seems the scent profile wouldn't work well (at least to me) but I've seen several reviews that say this is a great scent

I suppose ever-changing soap bases are mostly to sell more product to us hobby shavers and not really for the improvements to lathering.    Either that or I can’t tell poop from Shinola.  Yep, I just said it.    Has B&M ever released a bad base?  I’m not cognizant of one.  Every B&M soap I have ever owned has worked excellently. The scents on the other hand get a little weird though (Leviathan, Roam I’m looking at you).  So anyway, this soap is a Glissant base and the best base I think B&M has released.  I works great (just like Softheart, Excelsior, Reserve, Latha, etc).  So shapers, feel free to change the base often but know I think you already have a soap that is working fantastic.

Ethos Grooming Vanilla Safi shaving soap. I generally prefer vintage soaps, but Frank's soaps are great. The scent of this one is somewhat weak to my old nose, which has lost some of its discrimination, but it is very intoxicating, and the lather is wonderful.

Shave 5 ・ 94% left

Every three weeks or so my skin grows tired of shaving. At times like these, even the ice pack can’t ward off irritation. The reasonable thing to do would be to let my mug rest for a day or so, but I’m so hooked on shaving that skipping a day is a last resort. Years ago at the dawn of my shave odyssey, irritation was rare. Three or four passes each morning was the rule. But nowadays my hide can’t handle that much trauma. To keep the burn at bay in high summer, I’m looking for a clean one-pass shave. So I’ll stick with a mild ’n efficient razor, a trusted blade, and most importantly, a rich tallow & lanolin lather. All this is to say you may be seeing a lot of this Beaudelaire in the next few weeks.

Pannacrema - Nuavia Blu

Say anise and I'm in. And if I had to choose one, this blows the others out of the water. What a fantastic, classy scent. And there's really nothing else like it.

Showing the Colonia Essenza aftershave because it also has a great anise note...and if I could only have one ADP, this is it. No hesitation. What a duo.
