Wild Oranges v. (Meißner Tremonia) Seville oranges

Each of Meißner Tremonia’s soaps is made with a slightly different recipe. In spite of that variety, their lather comes out fairly uniform. It’s puffy, at least at first, and stiff. I lay it on thick and knock it down with my brush until it makes a sturdy layer. Then I come at it with the water. It’s loaded with talc, so it’s thirsty. After giving it a long deep drink, I get a lightish, slick lather that makes a nice rink for the bladework. It finishes dry and smooth, thanks again to the talc. And the scent? Wild Oranges reminds me, predictably, of marmalade.

You mentioned that you enjoy Mirto with warmer weather and I found that interesting. The notes I smell like the green myrtle, sandalwood and white moss. I do get the lemon, lime and lavender so it reminds me a bit of a fougere but more sweet. One of my favorite Saponificio Varesino scents.
zaclikestoshave, I'm glad you like reading these soap notes. I like writing them. They're a quiet diversion from the clutter of a busy day. And I'm enjoying your videos on YouTube. You're a master of the high-gloss lather (and you're tempting me to shave my head once the hot weather sets in!).

I've always preferred citrus scents but I don't know if I have smelled lemongrass and neroli together. That sounds interesting and I am sure you might have tried Mike's Lemongrass and Eucalyptus.

Hi Zac,
It is probably a 6.5 out of 10 on scent strength.
Not sure you've noticed or agree, but lemongrass has the nuance of vetiver with citrus. So, this one is feeling like citrus, floral and vetiver...
I think I tried Mike's Lemongrass and Eucalyptus, but that would have been like 7-8 years ago when I got like all his samples. You like it?

Nero, I may try to get a sample of that soap then sometime in the future. I enjoy the DG soap bases and their performance. I'm pretty easily pleased when it comes to citrus floral scents. I don't normally go for vetiver alone but can imagine it's nice with this mix. With how much snow you have in your area, maybe you would like the Mike's Lemongrass and Eucalyptus when the weather warms up. I find that the lemongrass is (obviously) very strong and refreshingly simple. I really like a lot of the Mike's scents. Cheers

Bouki, happy to hear you enjoy my videos. Maybe sometime soon I can get a headshave in again. It's not the most fun thing to do since it's messy and since I nick myself pretty often it's not something that is easy to do on camera without showing blood. Anyways, I would attribute my lather mastery from years of using such a small rotation of soaps and limiting my purchases the last 6 years. Last year I finally gave myself some rope and allowed myself to try some new stuff. I know ischiapp likes the Meissner soaps a lot but damn, I hated how puffy and foamy the lather was when I had a tub. Maybe that is anothe rone I can revisit this year. They have a few scents I would be excited to smell. Thanks for the comment
