What soap/cream did you use today?

Some Stirling Soaps scents are just darn pleasant.  Scots Pine Sheep is nice.  Electric Sheep, although bold is quite pleasant.  And Gin and Tonic is s certainly a snootful of awesome.  I tend to like Stirlings essential oil creations better than the frag oil ones.  Don’t know why.  This one is going to be a favorite and the Stirling performance is so easily dependable.  I wish there was a bit more juniper berry in there but then it would not be gin and tonic now would it.

Lipripper660, this just may be my favorite Stirling Shave Soap.  I always pair it with Penhaligon's Juniper Sling Eau de Toilette.  The two were made for each other.

The Shaving Shop Club Chasing the Dragon (K2)

K2 performance is excellent, but I was hoping for this scent to be “darker” – there’s a surprising brightness to it. Then again, Khalifa (which I still have not tried) is apparently Chasing the Dragon’s darker cousin, so I suppose this is a game of “wait and see” (or “wait and smell”).

Know not the intent BUT A&E exactly replicated the scent of burning opium, maybe even more realistic than actual opium in that there no cut

No. 88 t. (Czech & Speake/Valobra) musty rose

This stuff wears like iron. So far this puck of No. 88 has given me ten heavy, thick lathers. All that shaving has cost me only three grams of soap. I haven't been scrimping, either. These were good, hearty hundred-swirl loads with a proper 24 mm brush. Looks like I’m going to be enjoying this puck for a long time. Good thing, too, since I’m told Valobra doesn’t make soap any more.

Razor note: After forty-four shaves all in a row, I’ve put down my Henson Al13. It’s given me some good shaves, but something about its aluminum finish gives it a lot of drag. I feel like it’s sticking to my face, no matter how slick the lather is. That leads to irritation. Today I took up the true and trusty Maggard V3, and all I can say is what a difference a little chrome plating makes. A very nice slick ’n’ easy shave.
