Clay Face

Haymarket Vetiver t. (Shannon's Soaps) citrus, oakmoss, vetiver

If it weren't for the word VETIVER on the label, I could have easily mistaken this scent for a bay rum. It's darkly sweet and spicy, and the vetiver sort of gets lost under the moss and orange. The soap itself is a deep chocolate brown, reminding me of Tallow + Steel's pucks. It lathers thick and stringy at first but quickly smooths out into a very rich emulsion, like Declaration Grooming's older soaps. An unexpected scent, but a good soap and a comfortable shave.

After a Long camping weekend with five grand daughters and one grandson I was dirty!  Well, not so much dirty, because there is a shower in my trailer, but unkempt perhaps.  Laying on a shave after three days is always an awesome feeling.  Crabtree and Evelyn West Indian Lime is if nothing, not a simple citrus scent.  In fact for me lime isn’t the leading note. Smells to me like Juniper is wearing a lime fedora and a vetiver Tie.  It’s not ever going to be my favorite but it sure is nice.  This cream likes a completely wrung out brush and significant product but if not stingy with the cream it Shaves very nicely indeed.  It is more “night on the town” than “day on the beach”.
