Bouki, how was your lather this am? Did paint strokes and delayed agitation work for you?
TommyCarioca: Thanks for asking! Yesterday's lather, alas, wasn't the greatest. I switched to a boar brush. Forgetting how much water they hold, I drowned the emulsion in the early stages of the build, and the stuff fell apart. That hasn't happened in a long time. I had a suspicion that it was more than just the brush or the water. So I took a look at the soap and found 'crystals' in it, hard little white bits that don't dissolve into the lather. That's usually a sign of a soap on its last legs. (I know when I find crystals in an Le Père Lucien soap, it's time to take it to the bin.) I'll keep plugging away at Cheshire on and off for the rest of the week using a variety of brushes, but if there's anything left by Saturday, it will be laid to rest.
May she rest in peace.

I have a hard time with boars;never seem to get a good load.

One of the most unique scents in shaving soaps.  When I first opened it I rolled my eyes and thought, wow, it’s really really sweet.  With fruity scents, I’m an orange or pineapple guy.  Turns out even though it’s pear forward, it combines well with the other notes when whipping up the lather and the end results are magic!  The performance of this soap is top 10 of ALL TIME for “Me.”
High praise brother! Is it a vegan soap? Scent sounds inerstin '

Tommy, I’m a Meatatarian, bone in ribeye for me! Haha, it’s a tallow for sure! Peter did this one right; scent profile and performance is top shelf!

I completely agree . This is an interesting and unique fragrance. All performance at the highest level. Great soap maker.
If the scent did not change when I added that water I don’t think I would have liked it as much as I do.  I remember saying, ughhhh, it’s smells really sweet.  Again, scent and performance top 10 All Time for me.  Like Frank’s Dragonsbeard Soap, crushed everything I like except GD Angel.  Those two soaps are really special for me!

You Gents are pulling out all my Top 10 All Time Soaps/Creams! I had to put all 4 Nuavia’s on the same line because I can’t figure out which of the four I like more!

That looks fantastic!
Trying to keep up with you. Btw, our lathering approach is identical. Mine developed with patience. I enjoy the process, and so slowed down with hydration rate. The kiss of death is early foam and a light load.

I learned this here at DFS, slow down whipping up my lather, enjoy the process, the aroma‘s, add water very slowly, if it starts to foam, I have 2 choices, 1/add soap or 2/start over.  For “Me” there’s no in-between. I slowed way down on the whipping of lather and now it’s my best lathers ever!
