No. 88 t. (Czech & Speake) rose, plumeria, vetiver, sandalwood

Here's another classic soap that relies on glycerin and petrolatum (petroleum jelly) to give you a remarkably smooth finish. No. 88 also lists 'Sea Mays' among its ingredients. I don't know what that is, and neither does Google. I suspect Czech & Speake mean 'zea mays', or in other words, maize (corn). What's corn doing in your soap? Soap makers use cornstarch to help the scent last longer. They blend the starch with their fragrance oils and then mix the sweet smelling dough into the soap base. That's what keeps No. 88 smelling great for years.

Local Gent Bay Rum reminds me of the old Reese’s “Hey! You got peanut butter on my chocolate” commercials.  Bay Rum is luscious but someone got Old Spice on my Bay Rum and it’s pretty nice.   There for a while Robb was gone but it looks like he and West Coast Shaving have teamed up on a soap.  This one is very nice indeed.

Paul Simon is a favorite Singer/Songwriter of mine and his tune Slip Slidin’ Away was running through my head this morning.  Not because 60 years has me contemplating life because that song is about lost opportunity and giving up on dreams, but because Michelle at Mystic Waters makes a super slick soap. Ive never found this soap finicky to lather as some certainly have.  Pre and post chelation it has always treated me right.  Although the post shave plumpitude is not in the same class as some super-fats, neither is it unstable and prone to rancidity, and with the ridiculous amount of soap I have, that needs to be considered.  So gents, hang tight to your dreams, be willing to forgive past missteps, and roll with the punches.  Good day to you my friend.
