Man I hate following Bouki. He is just soooo good!!
Agree . I simply won't post near Bouki - I sound like a philistine. If he can make shaving soap this good - can you imagine his game with the ladies

Sunday

I try to hit some variant of the Old Spice over the weekend as regularly as possible, with Tabac in the mix of course. As the weekends are my barbershop days - feels right to shave the neck ears nose and head with the barbershop vibe in the bathroom. My favorite Old Spice fragrance replica is Stirling, #1 on performance as well. Their rendition hits the spicy part just right - it is 'round' and I can barely discrern this versus my seven bottles of vintage Old Spice. Their AFS is wonderful. #2 in my ranking is Soap Commander. Close on fragrance: the ASB and bar soap are close to the original. #3 in my ranking is Mystic Waters Windjammer. It is a bit too fresh and soapy - but definitely a first cousin in the old spice family tree. Post is the best in the business: like shaving with moisturizer . #4 is PAA is very similar to MW Windjammer. #5 B&M, again in the family - but not as close to the original as Stirling and SC. Missing the spice accord that imo are there in the top 2. #6 Route 66's version is second cousin territory on fragrance. #7 was. St Charles Soap company. Now sadly out of business. It got the spicy right but was missing that floral geranium note of the original. Left to try - Gingers Garden's version. I love her afs and tallow soaps. Going to order some this week. Hope I didn't bore you boys. If you know of a puck I left out - let me know. I am about to settle in after 10 years of searching! Btw - that was a fragrance ranking only!

Mystic Water Windjammer - finicky but post is reeedikulus

There's a dash of rose in the middle of this fragrance, not enough to call much attention to itself, but enough to smooth and civilize the oud. There's also some cedar, which gives the oud an old barn vibe. And then there's some tangerine that keeps it all clean. If you're a fan of M7 Oud Absolu (St Laurent), but you want something a little sharper, you won't be too far off with Tundra Artica.

And this post was enough to hit the "Pay Now" button Big Grin .  Thank you Bouki...soon I'll be able to experience all the glorious suds and scents everyone raves about with SV!

Only a few swirls of the paste and I ended up with too much soap.  Also, there's likely too much water added.  Even though I didn't do a great job (look at those bubbles Sad ) with the lather, it was still a wonderfully slick soap.  And that scent, oh my oh my oh my...I put the remaining lather all over my face as I cleaned up the gear just so I could enjoy that peat moss/clay scent a while longer
