Stella Alpina v. (Saponificio Varesino) citrus, eucalyptus, woods

You buy a soap with "alpina" in the name and you have every right to expect a bit of cooling. But there's no chill in Stella Alpina (which after all is named for a flower). What to do? Crank up the menthol mill! Today I dusted this cake of soap with fifteen shakes of powdered menthol. I had already bloomed the puck with hot water. The result was a very invigorating combination of fire and ice that left me feeling like I'd just broken through tree line into the bright, frosty tundra of a snow-capped peak in the Rockies. Very refreshing.
   

Gillette Pure shave cream

20 sec load with a damp 24mm tuxedo off a dry puck.  Sprinkled 8 to 10 drops of water and continued to load for another 20-30 seconds.  Face-lathered for about 8 to 10 minutes while dipping 10% of the knot in water every couple of minutes...
