Most take me back to my childhood and young man times and generally hearken to outdoor events or situations. This is not that. This soap takes me back to Lancaster PA on a business trip many years ago. I was just starting back into DE Shaving and had carried with me some VandeHagen and a vintage Gillette. I happened to be rolling through downtown Lancaster and ran across a shop named Zanzibar which happened to carry several shaving soaps and creams and I bought this puck of PdP. From then and forever the sage scent of this soap will not remind me of France or my beloved Idaho mountains but of my great friends and business associates in The Great State of Pennsylvania. Much maligned, this soap used to get headlines, and it should yet. Easy, very easy to lather and the scent is a pleasant 5/10 leaning on herbal sage. It smells clean and fresh. Sure, the finish is a bit dry compared with today's super-fatted soaps but there is something about a triple milled puck that will always pull me in. Besides, I always use a post shave moisturizer to keep my testosterone fueled man beast image alive. I sure do like the shave PdP offers.Brush porn. I tip my hat to the the Raquel Welch brush of this. Thread!

Tundra Artica v. (Saponificio Varesino) woody oud
A generous dose of oud makes Tundra Artica smell more like a hidden temple in a Laotian jungle than a log cabin hunkered down on a windswept arctic plain. So how did it get its chilly name? Saponificio Varesino scours the planet looking for ingredients that will leave your skin feeling especially happy after a shave with their soap. For Tundra Artica, they looked to the far north and found Icelandic lichen, which is supposed to sooth, purify, and calm your skin. It may even have some antibacterial properties. Some apply it directly to wounds to speed recovery. I don't know if that actually works since this soap is so protective, I've never had a nick.

Strong 'n Scottish - I was a little disappointed in the scent strength on this soap. I was expecting a bold "in-your-face"-type strength. What I sense is a subtle "earth" scent that ranks about a 6 out of 10. Don't get me wrong...the scent is wonderful. It's a clay-like scent that is very pleasing I just wish it were stronger
This morning I loaded a dry brush in the paste for 4-5 swirls. It was more than enough! I face-lathered for about 10 minutes and ended up with a very lush lather. It is certainly a different lather than MW or Shannon's. I wasn't able to get it to the consistency that i can from those two but definitely enjoyed the lather produced.
