I don't know how Art of Shavings new veg offering in Sandalwood scent performs and likely never will because I have several pucks of old tallow Valobra-made sandalwood soaps.  And....this is my favorite scent of all time.  The performance of the soap Is great too.  The scent is not a fancy cologne type but more woody and awesome.  Best thing is it lingers.  I enhance it with Fine Santal Absolut which has a bigger anise note than AOS but it leaves with the dry down.  By the way gents, there is a big box of soap samples making its way around.  Get your name on the list RIGHT NOW to check out a plethora of offerings from about a dozen makers all for the cheap cost of shipping the box to you.  The thread is "soap sample passaround".  Check it out. https://damnfineshave.com/thread-soap-sa...signup-now

And if forced to - I would admit my favorite puck fragrance is the AOS Sandalwood/Fine Santal. A great all year - round fragrance. Wish I had stock piled the valobra version offered by AOS.

Very unusual scent - earthy for sure, and i don't get any wood, mostly vetiver.
