Anne Bonny v. (Dr. Jon's Shaving Soap Co.) tea, lime, bay, rum
As much tea as bay or rum, Anne Bonny has a pleasant floral side note that reminds me of jasmine. In fact, the combination of jasmine and tea has been popular in China for centuries if not millennia, where it’s served to share welcome. Its introduction to bay rum shaving soap, though, seems unique to Dr. Jon. It’s never been clear to me just what sort of doctor Jon is. His picture on the tin makes him look like a mountebank, a bit quacky, but I have to confess his soap is good stuff and it smells heavenly. If I hadn’t already given my heart to Meißner Tremonia’s Natural Bay Rum, Anne Bonny could have easily swept me away.

I will enjoy it even more now, having read your observations about its character.
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
