What soap/cream did you use today?

I like Shannon's a lot and this one has intrigued me.  Can you describe the scent for us?  Or perhaps give us a "similar" scent we may understand?  Oh, and quit posting the lather you build on the brush.  My brushes are looking for a designated hitter.

Forest City Fern is my favorite Shannon's soap.  It is her "premium" line but, honestly, from a lather perspective...it's only marginally better than her regular line.  Where FCF shines is the scent.  It's a fougere-forward scent and the best way for me to describe it is if you think about a chilly November/December early morning.  Taking a deep breath while standing outside, you get that chilly air into your lungs and there has always been a scent associated with that breath (at least for me).  It's almost like frozen grass/dirt.  If you have ever tried Stirling Frozen Tundra (which I highly suggest), Shannon's is basically the same scent but minus the menthol

Never actually tried Shannon's, so I planned on ordering some samples. However, I just noticed they don't have a sample size for this one. Weird.

I do 'need' a fougere or some sort of earthy scent (I'm picky though). Kept going back and forth between ordering samples of Shannon's first or just buying Gentleman's Quarter Oak and Moss soap. I think, especially with your description, Shannon's wins.

Sure, choose the hippy brush to go naked. No stereotypes there, lol.

I prefer the lather. Even without the face it is very sad.

What a nicely scented soap this has turned out to be! With the usual rich lather common to all Grooming Dept soaps, this beef tallow based soap provides a very smooth shave.

ToOBS Grapefruit shaving cream. I absolutely love the scent. It smells like real grapefruit to me and I have to stop myself from just taking a bite.
