What soap/cream did you use today?

Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender shaving soap + Coate's Lavender shaving cream (both vintage).  Together they make great lather, and the Coate's provides the majority of the nice fragrance.

Brilliant Lather by Hand, the lubrication is second to none....HOWEVER, it has a Rose-Grandmother-Channel No#5 sort of scent. No, seriously, it does. Whilst I LOVE the lubrication, I have to wash my face after and apply a Gentleman’s Aftershave

Fougère Bouquet t. (Wholly Kaw) dark fern

Lavender, coumarin, and oakmoss are the backbone of any fougère. Each of these essential notes can be dressed up, played down, or distorted, but ultimately they all have to join the song, or the whole ensemble falls flat. Accentuate the lavender and you end up with a smooth elegant fragrance. Bring up the coumarin and what comes out has a barbershop twang. Go heavy on the oakmoss, and if you’re not careful, you may end up with the Incredible Hulk, something green all over yet unfortunately overbearing. WK’s Fougère Bouquet doesn't fall into that last trap, but this is undeniably a ferny song sung from deep down. Though its balance is sweet, Fougère Bouquet is probably best attempted only by the barrel chested.
