After a day off to heal up from what-ever-happened with my Sunday shave I had a go with the Mamba, new feather, plissoft knot, and Trumpers Sandalwood soap. As you can guess, I took nothing for granted and minded every detail of my shave. The lather was unctuous, slick and cushiony. Trumpers scents to me seem luxurious. Understated while not muted. Classy but not pretentious. Timeless and well mannered. I sure wish they would not have gone the "reformulation" route because I understand the current soaps are somewhat difficult to lather.

That was the first time I was there (and I was skiing solo that day) and it was very poor visibility and I was scared out of my mind (it's very steep and technical skiing there...cliffs, chutes...).That's why it looks familiar. I do a lot of hiking around Alta and Brighton in the summer.
Anvil v. (Through the Fire Fine Craft) citrus, black pepper
At some point in the last three years, TTFFC changed their base, redid their labels, and gave everything a new name. Anvil is now know as Bronco. It’s a very simple but satisfying pepper fragrance, something you don’t find too often in the word of shave soapery. There’s also a dab of bergamot to keep it fresh and lively. The scent is soft and comfortable like an old sweatshirt on a cool fall day. I don’t know what TTFFC’s new tallow lather is like, but there was nothing wrong with the old vegan lather, even though it wasn’t much more than stearic acid, fragrance and glycerin. These simple soaps serve me very well.
