I haven't seen this one hiding in the back of e cupboard for so long. PAA Chocolate Bourbon in the older soap base. (I like the Crown King base better). I bought this soap probably three years ago and the label shows the wear. Scent is chocolate forward and smells like dessert! The Bourbon makes a bigger statement upon lathering. Scent strength is 7/10 and fades throughout the shave. Nothing left scent-wise after final rinse. Lather comes easy but unless I load it long slickness is not there. If diligent about picking up enough soap, slickness and glide are perfectly acceptable. (Common with a lot of soaps and complaints of no slickness). I bought this in my rabbit-hole days and have since discovered that I really am not a huge fan of gourmand scents although this one is interesting. There,is about a half ounce left and won't be replaced when it's done. PAA has many other scents I enjoy more. Shaves nice though.

TTFFC is an artisan that isn’t mentioned very often. There are just so many soapmakers out there right now, I suppose. Although this soap base may not stand out, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, either, and I quite enjoy this light scent that teeters the line between feminine and masculine. TTFFC continues to make this one, but has renamed it COE.

Clay Face
Honolulu, Hawaii
Strong ’n Scottish v. (Meißner Tremonia) ★★★★★ smoke, peat, whisky

The third ingredient is whisky. Show up for work with a whiff of this on your chops and your mates will wonder how you found time to fall oot yer tree before noon. At first I heartily disliked the smell of this peat bog of a soap. It reminded me of kippered herrings wrapped for a years in oily canvas. But that was back in the stifling days of summer. Now a cold rainy snap has been squatting over us for a week, turning our side of the island into something like Shetland. The soap's smoke and clay and iodiney notes make much more sense under dismal skies. Oddly, the soap's strong aroma has refunkified an old boar brush I thought I had stripped clean of all barnyard skank.
