What soap/cream did you use today?

Shannon's Lady Luck today. This scent is stinking good. A boat load of Amber with some sort of citrus and a base of sandalwood and patchouli. Scent is 7/10 and stays with you both during the shave and after. Yep, scent wise, this one lingers. Loading is easy and the lather is low structure (ala Mikes Naturals). It's easy to get it super shiny and slick. Shannon's is a sleeper. We don't hear as much about it as it deserves. Lathers nice. Slickness and protection are on point. Post shave is awesome. What I really like about Shannon's is how the lather feels on my face. Some soaps just "feel" better than others and Shannon's is on the top shelf in that regard.

Cuir et Épices t. (Declaration Grooming) ★★★★☆ leather, cherry Skoal

Smells like you're shaving in the tack room. This is cowboy leather with a pinch of Skoal for sweetness and depth. My sample, several years old, had started to separate into an oily mass and gritty bits. I dumped what was left, about 2 grams, into my bowl and took a stiff boar brush to it. After five minutes of agitation and half a trough of water it gave up a dense, heavy, glossy lather that looked and felt like something from a tub of Tallow+Steel. The shave was superlative and taught me not to be stingy with Declaration Grooming soap. It also taught me that soap has a lifespan and it's best used before it starts to ossify.

I rather like the brush too. Picked the handl up somewhere in my travels and pulled the motheaten knot. Replaced it with an omega.
