B&M Nocturne
This is a wonderful Fall seasonal put out by B&M in the Glissant base. I don't hesitate when loading this soap and add water as I go. The lather produced is thick and luxurious. The scent is apple cider with hints of smoke. I originally picked this up at Pasteur's Pharmacy in NYC on my way up to Maine where I first used it this Fall. It could not have been more appropriate to use this soap in Maine in the Fall. I was very taken by the scent when I inhaled it at Pasteur's and it has only gotten better. As a seasonal offering this will disappear at the end of the year and I don't know if it will reappear next year, perhaps in the new Excelsior base. In any case, in its current incarnation this is a very satisfying soap to use and enjoy.

Stirling is a fantastic soap and this is a great scent. This is Stirlings take on old school Shulton Old Spice. I can't speak to how close it is because my bride of 30 years was helping out one day and decided to throw away "all that old cologne". My 45 year old bottles of Old Spice hit the dumpster! Don't worry, they will not be lonely. She also chucked some British Stirling, Chaps, Brut too. Man, that was a painful tongue I was biting on. She missed my English Leather though.

So anyway, the Stirling scent is very nice and about 9 of 10 in strength. Seems a bit sharper to me than was the old Shulton. Offers easy lather and yields the low structure, wet and shiny lather that I prefer.

Tundra Artica v. (Saponificio Varesino) ★★★★★ woody rose, oud

SV's vegan soap makes a mound of heavy suds that could easily pass for tallow lather. It comes together without any effort and drinks as much water as you care to give it. Slick and easy on the skin, it left me without a trace of irritation, even when I made one light pass without the benefit of lather. The scent of Tundra Artica, though mild, is an interesting blend of wood, oud, tobacco, and rose. This could easily be my daily soap, something I would be very happy to reach for each morning.

Even the Brut with the real metal shield? Cry

Yes sir! The real, honest to goodness, old school Brut circa 1976.

I know my nose still works (I can smell other stuff) so if that is the scent profile and the reviewer on Top of the Chain was being straight, then I got a dud.  Its too bad because while it really is a very good soap base, scent is an important part of my shave so I can't see reaching for this one again.  Maybe if I get a bad cold and can't smell anything.
Perhaps you should get in touch with WhollyKaw. I recently had a chance to smell the dry soap, and among 5–6 other soaps whose scents I sampled that day, Pasha’s Pride was my favorite. Beautiful scent.

All-around the finest soap I’ve ever used, all aspects considered. Glad to have received a sample, and am hoping to some day add a full-size ceramic pot to my (already oversized) collection of soaps.

DR Harris is a favorite of mine. There are slicker soaps but this is slick enough. I'm drawn to their superbley done scents. Scent strength on this soap is about 3/10 but lots going on. Marlborough is mostly wood and cedar wood at that but there is some sandalwood floating around in there too. It smells like a gentleman should. This is a HARD soap and the secret to both slickness and cushion is to load, load, then load some more. I suspect that most issues men Have with the performance of Harris is an under loaded brush. Post shave is not the best but I use Shea post shave anyway so I really don't care and the post is not too bad at that.

I completely agree. Excellent soap in all characteristics. My skin does not need an aftershave when using this soap.
