I have a few favorite brands of shaving soap that I go back to again and again, including Stirling, Barrister & Mann, and others.
However, if I could take only one brand to that proverbial desert island then Desmond's Barrow would be it.
Thank you Scritchnscrub for what is, for me, this perfect piece of shaving gear.

After the Rain (L&L Grooming) citrus, pine, cedar, pepper
Citrus isn't listed in the scent description, but it's right at the front door opening this soap on an upbeat note. Pine and cedar soon follow creating a fragrance that's both clean and hearty. After the Rain smells a lot like Trismegistus - L&L's interpretation of Terre d'Hermès - with pine balsam taking the place of benzoin resin. The soap makes a slick, dense lather that gives a great shave. I only wish my sample hadn't gone so soft. It actually turned a little slimy, and my brush had to run after it the scuttle. I felt like I was chasing an eel in a bucket.
