Oud-Santal (Le Père Lucien) aloeswood & sandalwood
Though the shave was excellent, the lather once again was light and frothy. I loaded my brush for nearly three minutes and then churned it vigorously in the scuttle for another four until I had a thick, creamy emulsion. The first pass was delightful, close, and comfortable. Perhaps I should have stopped there. By the second pass, the lather had already begun to dissipate to the point that when I brushed it on, skin showed through. There weren't enough bubbles left for a third pass. The whole lot had popped, leaving hardly a trace in the bottom of the scuttle. Le Père Lucien always gives me a marvelous one-pass shave, which I credit to the soap's unusual slickness. The lather's stability, though, is curiously unpredictable.
