Oud Osmanthus (Grooming Dept) leather floral
Shave 6 ・ 114 g left

This is a fresh take on oud – bright, clean, and fruity, without any of the usual skank. Instead, it offers medicinal notes, touches of leather, and a hint of apricot. Unusual yet captivating, it keeps things interesting all day.

FlashOne, thanks for the link to the oud merchant. And thanks for the warning. I can see how an interest in real oud could quickly drain the bank.

Today marks 800 consecutive shaves for me – I haven't miss a daily scraping since September 10, 2022. While my streak is modest compared to the greats on this site, it's a small achievement for me because it shows how I eventually learned to shave every day without irritating my skin (too badly ... most of the time). Here’s a quick look back:

My most-used soaps have been Abbate y La Mantia, Barrister & Mann, Martin de Candre, and Ethos. Though I love Abbate y La Mantia's scents and quirky style, its cushion is a bit thin for regular use. The other brands are reliable any day, any time. Currently, my favorite soaps are from Zingari Man, Grooming Dept (Aion), Ethos, and Joserra – brands I trust for a great shave every time. I’m excited to explore Gentleman's Nod as soon as I move past my oud obsession.

For razors and blades, the Blackland Vector Ti with a Feather SoftGuard blade and the Karve Bison with a Wizamet blade have been my top choices. I could happily use these two every day. The Karve Overlander and Lambda Athena are also gentle favorites.

As for brushes, I rely most on the Phoenix Shaving Peregrino and AP Shave Co.'s Blue Lagoon with a Synbad knot. My badger brushes are almost retired, and the boars only make an appearance once or twice a month.

Congrats on your 800 day streak Bouki,  and thank you for the detailed update.  It's a privilege to have a peek into the den of an experienced and dedicated fellow shaver, and to know what has appealed most, worked best, and even what worked less well.

Carry on (please!  Smile )
