What soap/cream did you use today?

CRSW Select v2 Puro Fresco. Still prefer Select v1, which is easier to lather for me. But v2 is still good.

The USPS seems pretty good - this released friday and you're using it monday. I ordered it from Italian Barber which is in the Toronto, Canada region and I live in Alberta. I don't expect to see the soap until some time next week. I'm pretty sure they could get it to me quicker (Canada Post) but then why would I pay for expedited service if normal was just as fast. The airlines call the concept "managed misery" - economy class has to be sufficiently miserable so that you'll shell out for better class of service. In the postal scenario I suspect that they have an aging room where normal class packages mature to the point they can be delivered.

I was surprised that it arrive so quickly. I live 2600 miles away and didn't expect until Tuesday possibly Wednesday as USPS has been an extra day or two late to me since the Holidays. Wasn't so sure I was going to like it when I opened the lid as it smelled really sweet but once on the skin it mellows and the layers mix in and a complex scent. Like it so far have to wait to wait and see.

I've heard some mixed reviews on Night Music so far. Nothing outright negative just some apprehension about the sweet/strawberry hit up front. I think you're wise to take a wait and see approach. I've found with some of the B&M scents, they're so complex and layered that your first impression isn't the lasting one that you end up having. I was that way with Leviathan which I was unsure about on first use but its now one of my favourites. I'm looking forward to getting it eventually.

Once the notes started to meld together it wasn't as sweet to me. I really didn't notice any difference in lather or pre/post feel but only one use so too early to tell on the soap but I really like the aftershave balm. It is 11 hours since I splashed in on my face and neck and though I cant pick it up on my skin it is still noticeable on my mustache. Once the notes settle in over time it is a nice aroma that I like and couple of people both woman commented on how nice I smelled this morning as I walked by their desk. I have lifelong sinus issues but it was the vanilla more than the strawberry that made it overly sweet when I first opened the jar. Mellowed out when lathering and shaving and I did notice a hint of strawberry but not overpowering or at least no so far with my tub with the initial shave.

Beaver WoodWright Ghost Ship

Stirling Ozark Mountain. This is an excellent scent that reminds me of the mountains just after a rain, or during a rain perhaps. The performance is top notch as with all Stirling Soaps I've used.

barrister_n_mann Taiga. Great performance with super cushion and slickness. The scent... what can I say? If you like the smell of a pine forest, with spruce gum stuck to your bare feet while running top speed in a loin cloth made of cedar bark as balsam drips down from the canopy above, you will likely enjoy this soap.
