Interesting to see the preference for new SE razor over vintage GEMs and Schicks.

Hey Mike,
Well probably Wolfman 1.55 wr2 but I'm really liking my Charcoal goods SS Lv3 in Safety Bar. I about forgot the ikon tek.
Just got a Cobra SE and that awful ( in a good way) efficient but it's new to me, so I'ma bit undecided on it.
What about you, could you tell me your most efficient ones?

I'd say my gut take runs like this Keith:

These are my favorites . . .
  Game Changer .84
  GEM Clog-Pruf
  GEM Featherweight
  Gillette New Long Comb
  Hawk V3-A
  Muhle R41, 2013
  OneBlade Genesis

And these are the most efficient . . .
  Muhle R41, 2013
  GEM MMOC
  Hawk V3-A
  OneBlade Genesis

In answering your question, I realized that I haven't reached for some of them in a while - the MMOC and Clog-Pruf.  Others, while not the most efficient, will easily provide a BBS shave if handled properly.  Also, I imagine the OneBlade will be a controversial choice, but it works great for me.

Hi back_to_shaving.  It is just my impression, but I think these things run in cycles.  Many vintage SEs have been posted in this thread.  They sort of ebb and flow, as do the more modern razors.  I'm not sure, but I think more modern posts pop up anytime there is a new release, like the Hawk V3.

As it happens, two weeks ago brother keto asked me what my favorite razors were.  As you can see from my reply, out of my six favorites, four were SEs, and two of the four were vintage.  Since that post, I have had the very good fortune to pick up a vintage Shake Sharp SE, and it is an awesome favorite.  Adding in the Shake Sharp means that five of my now seven favs are SEs, and three of the five are vintage.  And FWIW, I also have a Schick EverSharp Hydro-Magic in the mail.  So far as I can tell, the EverSharp looks like an I-2, and I like my I1, so I have high hopes for the EverSharp.  Time will tell.

But like I said, these are just my impressions.  Even though your observation may be right, nineteen (19) pages of thread is more than I care to sift through.

I rarely use an SE razor, and even more rarely do I use the same razor two days in a row.

Today I used my Colonial General V1 in stainless for the second day in a row (with a Feather Pro). Before yesterday, the last time I used it was likely over a year ago. This razor, I've now discovered, delivers a shave as close as any other in my rather large den. It will be difficult not to use for a third day in a row tomorrow.
