Update:
A friend of mine told me that he's been using feather blades for about two years and gave me a box of ten. Whoa! I had to wait 36 hours before I could shave again! I had BBS everywhere except my "trouble" spot and almost no irritation. I'm really glad I tried those because now I have a "closeness" benchmark I can chase while seeking more comfort. I have the Astra SP's on deck. I'm finishing my third feather blade tomorrow and moving on to the Astra.

I have a number of blades that I feel offer solid shaves but agree with Marko, the Feathers are my favorite and would be my one and only if I had to choose.

Update 2: tried an Astra SP on my 36th shave since switching to DE wet shaving; and, I achieved my 1st legit BBS. Two solid passes with clean-up on my chin, jaw line and neck. Alum had zero sting, Pinaud Bay Rum was soothing rather than burning and a cotton ball verified what I had hoped one day to achieve. The Astra delivered! The Feather gave me a super close shave; but, the Astra let me do the clean-up even on my trouble areas to get them BBS. Most importantly, ZERO IRRITATION! Until something else beats it, the Astra is the winner in the EJDE89 for me.

There is something about finding nirvana that is happiness itself. Congatulations.
Sandan, at $10/100, I would not have a problem at all using a blade for only two shaves if they always gave me the results I'm getting from my initial shaves with the Astras. Luckily for me I'm getting at!least 3 shaves from them. That's about $10/ year if I were to stick with Astras.
I have other blades to try and will continue to work through them. I'm pretty encouraged at these have worked so well early on.
