Face lathered and it was quite luxurious. It's definitely big. I don't own a Tuxedo knot to compare but I was very happy with it. Had enough lather for 6 passes. I shampooed it twice before using but my Mystic Water Lime still was discolored by the black dye.

Hmm, not to put the Maggard knot down, as it sounds as if overall your experience with it was great, but I have a 24 mm and a 30 mm Tuxedo, and neither has ever given off any color.

(I should add that I’ve never used them with anything other than cold or lukewarm water, so I can’t say for sure if hot water would cause them to “bleed”… What was your water temperature?)

Hey Matthew, thanks for the info.  I used only the cold water tap when I cleaned it the two times and then when I lathered so it wouldn't be due to hot water.  Personally I didn't give it a second thought but does make me wonder now that you mention your experience. I wonder what the difference could be for the decrease in color stability?  The only other person I know who has purchased the Maggard B&W knot is Jeff wyze0ne but I'm not sure if he has used the knot yet.

Wolverine, I have not used my Maggard knot yet. I still need to figure out a handle for it. Your experience with the black dye leeching out of it is rather disconcerting though. I'll let you know if mine does it as soon as I get to use it.
