Current favorite is the H&S N075 AL baseplate. Smooth and efficient. Also easy to find the cutting angle. What surprised me the most is how efficient it is. So far used CG everyday razor, Razorock GC .68OC AND .84OC, Rex ambassador, Rockwell 6s and Parker Variant.

I shave daily and like milder razors. My Timeless Titanium 0.68 SB was my go to almost everyday razor for quite some time and is now my travel razor. If it was the last razor I ever owned I could be happy. But it has been replaced as my everyday razor by my Blackland Tradere SB. The Blackland Tradere SB had a learning curve for me because of the weight, longer handle and probably most significantly the “flat” blade positioning. After learning this razor, it is comfortable and efficient and has become my favorite.

I would not hesitate to recommend either the Blackland Tradere SB or the Timeless Titanium 0.68. Both are superb.

At the moment, Haircut & Shave Co. P076 SB in 17-4 SS.  It gives me the best one pass shave of any razor
I've yet used.  I don't like their handle however; it's too long, too thick, and too heavy, so I use my own.
I've never tried a Wolfman so I don't know for sure, but from what I've seen the H&S is in the same league.
And I could never get a good shave from a Feather AS-D2, even with a Feather blade and two shims.

I have to list three categories.

Solid guard bar: Edwin Jagger DE87
[Image: EDJ087-6_x512.jpeg]
  • Mild yet efficient
  • Appearance of the head, particularly the "rocker" cross-section of the ends of the base plate. Looks cool.
  • Faux-ivory handle, for the vintage-ish colour, which goes well with my Stirling and Simpson brush handles
  • Balance is nice, probably because of the handle not being solid metal
  • Still easy to grip the handle, even though it's glossy smooth
  • Very reasonable price

Open Comb: My favourite was the Gillette LC New, now it's the RazoRock SLOC
Shown here on a RR Barber Pole SS handle.

  • Also very reasonably priced. I got the head by itself for $10.49 CAD.
  • Excellent for blade-buffing because it recycles the lather when you drag it backwards

Single-edge: vintage Schick/Lady Eversharp Type K1 injector

  • It just feels really smooth, even with a well-used blade.
  • The balance is great, because the lightness of the mostly-plastic handle is offset by its extra length.
  • It's got a "Hydro-Magic" lever - woo-hoo!
We could be Heroes, just for one day.
