...if you celebrate it.  I don't really need anything, but this is what I would like, if only my wife would allow it, a new lamp for the living room.

The only person I exchange gifts with is the wife and the things I want she can't/won't buy for me. That makes me VERY difficult to buy for. So every year I give her a list of things I'm going to buy anyway, and she does the same thing for me, except most times what she wants requires 'net savvy. That's where the real gift comes in. I find the items and she OKs it for herself. She tells me what to buy on my list. It may be unconventional but it works for us rather than getting things we don't want and will never use. Christmas really isn't so much about gifts for us. If I got nothing I'd be OK with that.

Well, since you asked. ...

I'm 72 years old (when I tell the truth), I've got more sh$t than I know where to put or what to do with, and the thing that makes my world go round is our two 13 year old Golden Retrievers and our human family.  I want for our kids to keep growing in joy, wisdom, and beauty, for the grandkids to soak in every bit of their parents' grace, and for all of us, including the "puppies", to be healthy and abundantly happy.  You can't get that stuff in stores, can you?

And John:  Congratulations and best wishes to you amigo.  I must admit, you're a leg up on me.
