What do you have 'Out for Delivery' ?

After using my first Badger Brush (the Stirling Finest) I think I might just be a boar guy, though the Maggard Black Synthetic knot is very good.  I wonder if it is similar to the game changer knot.

If you find that you can be exclusively a boar brush guy then you will save yourself a ton of money.  They really do represent incredible value.

If it weren't for the gorgeous handles some artisans are making and putting exclusively badger knots in, or if I could find a source of boar knots for vintage handles I'd be all in I'm pretty sure.

Yeah, right after I hit post I thought, ...but nobody is putting boar knots into all those amazing handles - I wonder if its just a marketing bias that they obviously want to get a decent price for their brushes but they figure a boar guy isn't going to pay those prices. I suppose you could always buy custom handles and boar knots separately and then put them together yourself. I think decent boar knots are available if you look for them.

I do wonder about the quality of the boar knots at the golden nib. I also found some with a brush maker as well but I don't think he keeps them in stock often.

I do not. I have limited experience with boar brushes. The only one I have and use is a Zenith which I enjoy from time to time. Soft tips and zero funk right out of the box.

In general boar brushes are not crazy expensive. Buy the brush you want and then ask the artisan brush maker du jour to salvage the knot and reset it in their handle.
