After doing this and that, nothing for more than a couple years at a stretch, I decided relatively late in life (age 34) to go back to school for 2 years of premed studies, then med school, residency, and a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Immunology. I was in private practice for about 12 years before deciding that I really didn't like the various and increasing pressures of medicine. I sold my practice and just relaxed for awhile before working for another 3 years as a consultant for an online medical decision-making tool for patients and doctors. Five years ago I finally retired for good. Now I just hang out, take classes for fun, and do some volunteer work.

Four years in the Navy. Thirty three years working for a water district. Retired and moved to the country, and after being retired for 6 months started a job as a K9 handler for a bedbug detection company. Man, you find them in places you'd never think of.

I could surely use someone like you around my way...one of the previous owners of my house a few years back mixed copper fin baseboard with cast iron baseboard on the same heating loop (1 zone for the entire house). talk about a real PITA. of course the copper fin baseboard is in my master bedroom while the rest of the house, except for our main bathroom (also copper fin baseboard), uses cast iron. sigh......

Hard to balance out the heat output huh?On a single zone exasperates the problem as well, check into thermostatic radiator valves if you haven't already. They may balance out your system enough to live with.

yeah, there's extreme temperature differences between the rooms with cast iron/copper fin. we only have 2 cast iron radiators in the house. the rest of the house uses cast iron baseboards with the exception of 2 rooms with copper fin. I thought about replacing the copper fin in my bedroom with cast iron baseboard, but it is not cheap.

What's up!?!? I was an Air Force Firefighter for 6 years and have been on the civilian side of the job or 5.5 years now. I'm trying to get into a trade as well since I have so much time off.
