The beat up Wacker Jungmeister turned out to be a top tier shaver!  Pleasant WED surprise!

Slowly working my way through the pre-1865 Osborn & Sons seven day set.  I plan on shaving again Saturday, so I figured I would sharpen that razor.

This is the first one of the three sharpened thus far where I finished on the CF.  I think it will make for a nice shave!

W. GREAVES & SONS manufactured in Sheffield, England between 1817-1823!  This Translucent Arkansas put a stunning final edge on this blade!

Greaves worked out so well off of the Translucent Arkansas stone...I took this Wacker Old Sheffield back to zero, went through my progression, and finished on it again!

Gents,

My two favorite finishers thus far are the Ancient Ocean Jasper and the Dans Primitive Cut Translucent Arkansas Stone.

They both produce a wonderfully smooth shaving edge.  The Jasper creates a sharper, and more crispy edge...the Trans Ark edge feels less crispy, and much more forgiving.

I would be hard pressed to pick one over the other at this point.

Filarmonica 13 Novodur on new to me Escher BG!

The Yellow Green Thuringian “rub stone” beneath might have been over kill since it’s big enough to finish on...I was messing around with it last night just to see...also made a very nice slurry on the BG before the final finishing laps with just water.

I also decided to redo the second brother in the pair of Old Sheffield Wackers...1k all the way through to the Barbers Gem.  It will be interesting to compare the Escher edge to the Translucent Arkansas.

I hope that everyone has a nice weekend!

The Ralf Aust that arrived earlier in the week. It is jumping to the front of the line. The green little brute was fun to finish upon! It’s more of a special brick!

13/16 Dubl Duck finished on an Escher Barbers Gem!  This razor has an extremely thin full hollow grind, and it just felt special on the stones.  I am really looking forward to my next shave!

Used the 13/16 Dubl Duck today, and man it’s a FUN and BEAUTIFUL shaver!  It has absolutely one of the thinnest and most symmetrical grinds I have ever used. Great audible feedback, super smooth, and complete BBS shave!  Just a great deal of fun!

I also think I might like the Escher BG best out of all the finishers I have tried!
