HARD SOAPS: Saponifico Varesino--any scent.
SOFTISH SOAPS: Le Pere Lucien, by a lot. Though right behind it is Mike's Naturals and Reef Point. Honorable mention: Catie's Bubbles, Tiki, Proraso Red. (News flash as of 27 June: I tried Reef Point shaving soap yesterday and used it again today. WOW! It's giving my LPL a run for the money. GREAT soap! I love me some Reef Point).
CREAMS: Art of Shaving sandalwood. I hate to admit it since AOS is owned by P&G, but there it is. It's great. Honorable mention: St. James of London Sandalwood; Kiss My Face (affordable and superb). Was a fan of XPEC but the honeymoon's over.
Update as of 2 July 2015: Came home from Pasteur with only two new soaps--Proraso Blue, and ReefPoint Dragon's Blood. Lately, I've been shaving at night. Last night used the Dragon's Blood. Fantastic. And the scent does not fade with water and lathering, it totally faded my aftershave (The Captain Sandalwood, which is fleeting to begin with). Tonight I used the Proraso Blue. Excellent.
