Gd Donkey base. I use Asinus
GD duck fat base.  I use Pekin
GD beef tallow base. I use Tacit. I’ve yet to try the Janus tallow that should have some additional slickness.
DG milksteak. I use unscented. Need more time with this base but it is a winner
Do you prefer any of the GD bases over the others? I see Donkey base on the top, so that's answered my question . Has it changed, I I mean the order?

no I’d say it’s still the way I favor them although they’re all really really good.

Thanks for that. I've got a Donkey milk one on the way.

I've probably already responded to this thread, but I'm gonna have to add Ballenclaugh to the list. An excellent, excellent soap base that is not widely available unfortunately. I had a killer shave with it this morning. It produces some of the densest, shiniest, and slickest lathers I've ever used. Quite impressive IMO.

Of all the GD bases what do you like the most? I've used a few bases, but there are a few I haven't

Declaration Grooming - Milksteak & Bison Tallow
Noble Otter
Ariana & Evans/The Club
Grooming Dept (various bases(there all good))
I Coloniali
Shannon's Soaps (Yep!)

Golf Nut

my updated top 3 now are:

Barrister & Mann (excelsior)
Wholly Kaw (siero base is superb)
Declaration Grooming (Milksteak)

I loved Grooming Department and actually bought 5 diff soaps, diff bases (even unscented) but all gave me a very severe allergic reaction on my face (thus why I bought unscented to try as well, but to no avail). So I cant personally list GD due to my intense reaction.

My other daily workhorse is Ariana and Evans (The club), although now the new soap bases listed above offer better performance.

Living on the edge

Was just strolling though a store and saw a 400ml can of Noxzema foam for about $2.
Its been years since I did canned for and for $2 I couldn't resist.
Had a menthol and camphor smell....very nice, slick and protective.
Smelled a bit like proraso green, minus the eucalyptus.
I appreciated not having to whip out a brush and then have to clean it.
I see a couple more cans in my future before I get bored of this.

Declaration Grooming
Wholly Kaw
Tallow and Steel

The search is over for me really. Once I'm through finishing up everything these three brands will get the majority of my business.
