What a difference a blade makes (GSB)

About two weeks ago I received my WR2 from Wolfman (1.15 DE standard polish).  Had a WR1 and wanted to try the 2.  I reflexively started using it with the blades I like best in my WR1 -- Bic and Personna. Neither felt right.  Tried a Feather and a 7 O'Clock Yellow.  I just couldn't get an easy and comfortable a shave.  I was about to give up on the razor and BST it, but then I opened my blade pouch and saw a GSB, a blade I rarely use as I find a bit mild in my other razors.  Well, I tried it.  Bam!  The razor just clicked in.  Thinking it was perhaps a fluke, I've now done three shaves with two GBS, and always a fine result.  Went back to a 7 O'Clock; didn't like it again.  So, basically, the lesson is that trying a different blade can make a world of difference. At least it did for me.

Thanks, Dan. Will do so.  But, as I've learned, what may work in on Wolfman may not work in another.

I get best shave from Tiger Platinum and use it in same Gap WR2 1.15 Sb & .95 OC just phenomenal shave no irritation smooth and I really enjoy it…this one works for me

Razorock Lupo .72 or .95. I like the .95 myself......but I doubt I have more knowledge than you

If you are looking for 'one razor to rule them all' at a fair price, that could be either the BBS-Standard by Razorock or the Mamba 0.70 also by Razorock. Both are CNC Stainless Steel milled, premium razors but at down to earth prices. If you don't want to spend that much, the MJ-90 also by Razorock would be and is my #1 recommendation for anyone wanting the best razor at the lowest price. Razorock modeled the MJ-90 around the Edwin Jagger DE89 and improved everything about it. They CNC milled the head out of aluminum, covered the blade tabs, improved the shaving characteristics and put it on the market for less than the DE89. Any of these three would serve you admirably for life as would any of the others recommended by the fine folks on this forum.

The original RR Lupo (Aluminum) was the first WR1 clone from RR...hence the name "Lupo", which is the Italian word for a male wolf. It is also a great shaver, and is under $30. It is very popular and has sold out on numerous occasions. All three colors are now in stock. I love both the original aluminum version and the new stainless steel Lupo .72. The stainless steel Lupo is also a bargain price for the material and quality of the razor.
