If salt is all you taste then it's not for you. When I could eat it I liked the convenience of it, and of course it tasted good, like pork. But back then I was probably consuming 4 tsps of salt a day between the salt shaker and manufactured foods. But smoked Spam is REALLY good. It's something like bacon. The first time my neighbor tasted it he was hooked on the smoked version. I recently found out that he has high LDL and he still eats the stuff. If I had known that I never would have offered him any.

Phil, what kind of tractor do you have? I loved your pictures but generally don't have to push snow until December with my Ford 8N. Around my house, dippy eggs are called dunky eggs and spam seldom makes an appearance. (I'm just not handsome enough for my like of spam to outweigh my wife's dislike).

I don't find it salty at all. I find bacon to be much more salty to my taste buds. I remember Spam fondly from my youth. But I did not have spam for going on 40 years. I picked some up on a whim and found I still love it. It is my go to breakfast meat. I am very fond of ham as well. Very similar to Spam.

I had the bacon Spam once. Posted it on my Spam thread in The Kitchen part of this forum. I was seriously disappointed as I could discern no bacon flavor at all. So no need to ever buy that again.

I have a Kubota B3030HSCC. My wife, ML, decided I was too old to be plowing snow in the NH cold. She arranged the purchase and trade in of my original Baby 'Bota - a BX series.

This one has a cab with heat and AC. I keep telling ML I will clear the driveway one day in my skivies Big Grin

The tractor is fun to use for snow removal. But not terribly efficient as I have to dump the bucket. The walk behind snowblower is quicker for the straight part of the driveway. Unless it is super heavy and wet snow or blowing up a storm I use the snow blower on the straight part. I use the tractor up by the house where the drive is too wide to throw snow.

I always wanted an 8N and a Farmall Cub.

Phil and Brian, thanks for answering my query. It's interesting to me that while your answers are somewhat different, there seems to be something in common about them. Brian, I have a hunch, though, that yours is probably closer to the answer as to why I don't care for it ("If salt is all you taste then it's not for you.").

We received more snow on Tuesday. This was a little after 4 PM Tuesday 11/20/18. Temperatures are expected to fall so we will have a white Thanksgiving.

I'm with you Phil - I am a big fan of Spam. Grew up on it - fried Spam sandwiches were a staple in our house.

Even better is the single slice pack of Spam added to Thai peanut sauce noodles while backpacking. That is good eatin'.

We had a snow in Cincinnati last week that lasted a day - it has been a cold fall.

It's been extremely cold here as well Phil, and last year it got cold early as well (due to global warming no doubt). I think the ground is mostly frozen now, or enough to where I could plow the snow we've been getting. Our average temp' this time of year is around 48°F and the past 3 nights it's been 4°, 7°, and last night 12°, yesterday the high was 25° and the day before we never got out of the teens. But we've been making up for the low temps with the high winds. In fact we've had a great deal of high winds the past month or so it seems. Being outside has not been any fun for quite some time now.

I certainly wasn't ready for the cold. I hadn't closed the attic vents in the shop and by the time I realized they were open all the heat from summer had been drained out of it. It just changed too fast and my brain couldn't catch up to it.

My brother came up to his camper yesterday and it was 14° inside.

Geez you guys! Snow and Spam in the same thread. Honestly!
(Freddy skip this part) I grew up with spam
Back then it was "fast food". I keep a couple of the singles around for camping, ice fishing, and other outdoor activities. What can I say!!? Every now and then I need a fix of boxed mac & cheese and fried spam.
Fall has been weird here in Wisconsin too. Mud, wet heavy snow, freezing fog, then near zero temps. 34 degrees above zero tonight. Strannge indeed.
