This came in today as I ordered two tubs of the WCS Oriental & Chypre Jojoba Shave creams. The Chypre was up first.....

Performance was pretty good to be honest, and the scent is just gorgeous. Good strength and a nice lingering effect. It needs an aftershave to complement it. Good lather, glide and protection. Residual slickness is a tad bit short but, a quick wet of the finger tips and apply and the slickness is there for a quick touch up. Post shave feel was very good, not great but, I think I attribute that to me preferring Tallow based soaps and the added benefit that it provides for my skin post shave. Don’t get me wrong, my face felt really good and hydrated just was missing the suppleness and moisterizing feel I get with Tallow based soaps. Lather builds quickly with a thick, rich full body with nice peaks. It took water very well and all I used was about a thumbnails worth of product.

All in all, not to shabby at all and if your into a vegan based soap, this rendering from WCS just might be something you should seriously consider. The scent is amazing, performance is very good not Tier1 wise, but much better than average and for the price, it’s a good deal. I think there will be samples offered and I think it’s worth picking up one to try out. I think it’s definitely worth a try. The Oriental is up for tomorrow nights shave....

It looks more like a really soft soap as opposed to an actual cream. Is that visual assessment correct?

Yes, I'd say it's in between a soap and a cream. I wouldn't recommend loading out of the tub either. Too soft for that. It's Catie's Bubbles "Luxury Cream Soap" formula. I have a couple of them and it is a great performer. A little goes a long way.

Yes, you'd be correct. Just like wyze0ne stated, it's closer to a croap than actual cream, but still soft and I wouldn't recommend loading from the tub.

Any thought of trying the Oleo soap version as well?

Yes. I’m definitely going to give those a try once they become available again. The Duck fat version has me intrigued. I’m just going back and forth over just putting my order in for the pre-order or just wait until they have stock. But, I would like to read some thoughts on it before I go all in.....

The Oriental cream gave a very good lather tonight and performed just as good as the Chypre. Same lather, glide and protection with very good results. Still, a bit lacking to my eyes in terms of post shave feel and conditioning. Again, I’ve been ruined by the benefits of Tallow based soaps and creams as I receive more in the form of better skin conditioning results. But, these two creams are no slouches by any stretch. I still have and feel a very good hydrating feel and my skin feels just as soothed with not a single bout of irritation to speak of. Impressive indeed for being a vegan based cream. No regrets on my part in acquiring these two products from WCS.

This is pretty much how I feel. Post shave for me is fine, residual slickness could be a little better, but not a big deal. I'm very happy with it, and will probably purchase some more in the future. I do LOVE this oriental scent.

I would like some more details on the Oriental scent if any of you wouldn't mind sharing. Smile

In terms of the bases, I prefer the Oleo duck fat soap over this "cream". The in shave performance is very good for both, but Oleo has the edge. The slickness is about the same, but the "cushion" and post shave is far better with the duck fat. Plus it's a more straightforward lathering process as it's a much firmer product.

They nailed it with the scent's description. It truly is "a spiced-rose woods scent". I wish I could be more helpful and expand on that. What I can say is that it's not floral/feminine at all, nor is it sweet.
I can also say that it's a lot different than WK Chypre Rose Concerto. So for those that own CRC and are concerned that they might be somewhat similar, don't be.
