Always and in the shower. Shaving comfort plummets without it.

When I used a cartridge razor and a can of chemicals, I would wash my face with soap and water, shave and then take a shower. Since I have been wet shaving I shower first wash my face in the shower and only use plain glycerin soap. I think that the shower and the soap moisturizes my beard, ergo I believe I get a better shave. However, currently I have never washed my face, shaved and then showered.

I'm not sure if I answered this before, but just in case. Usually in the shower with my Lucky Tiger face wash. Otherwise, I use a little bit of Noxema in the sink and work the whiskers for that last minute shave.

I have also splashed some warm water and lather up without much difference in the final result. To me is more about the ritual, I just enjoy the whole experience from prep to end.

I always do, as I shave after my shower and my shower involves washing my face. I've read that washing the face before the shave softens the whiskers and remove dirt from your pores, while also opening them up.
Look Ma, I'm wet shaving, I'm wet shaving...

Sometimes I shave before shower, sometimes after. If before I use warm water to clean my face or a mild soap

Haven't noticed a major difference whether I wash my face/shower beforehand. I may do it occasionally when I take my time doing a relaxing weekend shave.
