Chris, there are others here who are much better historians about Rooney than I am. The brushes were made when Lee Sabini was the manufacturing manager, I think, at Rooney, and ovesaw their production. I believe that retail sales of the Finests ended around 2010, and since then they have become increasingly scarce and costly. Opinions about their qualities vary, and the brushes themselves have slightly differeing individual qualities, although the majority of those who have used them agree that they have a nearly unmatched combination of excellent backbone/flowthrough and very white, soft hair tips with a slight scritch. For me they make the best lather and feel better overall on my skin than any other brushes, smooth but with body and character. They just feel exactly
right. If you look at my SOTD and shaving brush of the day images, you'll see that most of them feature Finests.
