When I go to stores I look in their shave are just to see if maybe they added anything traditional. The brush looks nice. It feels super soft kinda similar to synthetic but says its badger. I have my horrible silver tip badger from wd and the VDH felt way better then it. Thought silver tip was suppose to be softer then the Lowe end badger brushes. 0.o it's kinda tempting me, but it cost twice what a synthetic does.

unless you're wanting a badger, I'd probably just go with a synthetic that razorock or maggard is putting out.
Tu ne cede malis, sed contra audentior ito.
For $19.99 you could get the Razorock boar brush in olive wood handle. This is my absolute favorite brush. Wicked soft right out of the box, no funk at all ever, sheds very, VERY little, has great splay and good backbone, and scrubs the hairs to stand up without causing scratchiness against the skin.
IMO, razorock boar is the best $20 natural fiber brush on the market, bar none.
