For that $20 you can get a nice vintage Gillette or Schick. I have sold , for $20, Shick Kronas, Superspeeds etc. Unfortunately I do not have one waiting to go out. A friend of mine bought a VDH razor. It is very light and cheaply made.

They are cheap but I can tell you this they are well made, I think the same company makes these razors micro touch one, vdh, weishi etc. I have the micro touch and its a pretty darn good razor no doubt.

if you have any local antique shops in your area, it might not hurt to get out and check them out...sometimes you can find sweet deals and all they really take to be usable in most cases is a good cleaning.

I have the VDH razor and it's not bad. You can get a better razor for round the same price online though. Check maggards or amazon.

I have heard great things about the Razorock Mission. Antique stores for vintage.

Don't get a micro one touch or a VH, bad idea.  They are essentially Weshi razors repackaged.  For what you'll spend at that price point you'd be better off getting a Maggard razor.  They ship fast and you'll have it in 2-3 days.  Parker is also a fine razor at about the same price point.

I'll second this. Pass on the VDH/MT1 and pick up a steel handled razor from Maggard.

Thanks everyone. I have a handle that I like, so I ordered a razor head from maggard. ive been using the the razor that comes in the first shipment from "wet shave club". my razor bumps have been reduced to almost nothing. im not entirely sure, but their razor looks a lot like the maggard. so im going to switch the heads.

I have been using the VDH for months, only because when I got it, I really didn't know this whole community/movement existed. I am still using it, and I don't mind it at all, but again I don't have anything to compare it to. It has served me well up to this point, and I am still weighing my options for what I want to upgrade to, if I want to go higher end, or stick to the middle of the road.
