I'm going to Throw TOBS peppermint shaving cream into the equation. Seen very little talk about it but for me it's a winner. Not mentholated but the peppermint oil really gives you a good face freeze more so than many mentholated soaps or creams
Haslinger!

Mine is on its way, but then again it may get lost in the mail on the way from Slovakia.  We'll see.

Seven A.M. blades are used by few.

I use them . They give me a good shave.

These are made in Bangledesh. Probably not the best spelling.

I shaved with Arko cream last night and I have to add it to this list.  It was an all Arko shave with the cream, followed with the Aqua aftershave and Classic Natural skin cream.  I was amazed at how good that stuff felt on my face during and after the shave and the scent was great as well.  We hear a lot about the traditional sticks of Arko and folks love or hate the it because of the scent (see the Shave Tanks recent video Wink ) but I think all can agree the performance for the money is unreal.  This is the same for the creams.  I tried the "Moist" scent and found it to be very nice.  I also have a tube of the Regular and Cool and cannot wait to shave with them as well.  At $1.99 for a tube, you really cant beat it.

I agree, La Toja along with LEA are 2 Spanish brands that perform beautifully and are inexpensive.

Proraso soap and cream. I know this brand is well known, not artisan and widely available, but I was surprised to see little mention of it on top 10 lists among Youtube wet shavers. I always get a good lather from their products and they're really affordable. Their soaps are usually priced around $2/oz while a lot that are raved about frequently cost twice as much.

Any quality shaving cream in a tube, not a tub.  Think I Coloniali Rhubarb, any of the TOBS, Kiss My Face, MEM, etc.  For travel they cannot be beat because they are light, meet TSA carry-on requirements when traveling by air, and take up little room in luggage. They range in price from extremely inexpensive to pricey and offer a wide variety yet, when mentioning shaving creams, most talk of the product in tubs.  That's fine for home use but not so great for travel.  Therefore, shaving cream in tubes gets a vote from me for underrated shaving stuff.  Happy2

There are 2 soaps that are truly underrated and they are both German manufactured soaps...Klar Seifen and Calani. Both are excellent products and excellent performers in every department...cushion, slickness, fill and post shave feel.

I think Rudy Vey brushes are very underrated. Rudy makes great brushes with outstanding knots and high quality handles. I own many RV custom brushes with Shavemac 2 band Silvertips that he sources from Shavemac and are made by Bernd specifically for Rudy.

I will suggest to anybody that have never tried Rudy's brushes, give it a try, they are very nice.

Well since this thread has risen from the grave, I might as well throw in here as well:

Nancy Boy. The shave cream, and now the after-shave balm (not gel). The cream gets mentioned now and then, but hardly enough. The balm, which has their Blossomwood scent, is pretty new, but truly excellent stuff.

Musgo Real cream and Speick cream. Sure they get mentioned, but again, not enough. They're both great.

SE razors in general. Indeed, a small group of us have discovered their various virtues, and even find them to be inherently better than DE's thin, chatter-prone metal, but they're still minority players in the wet-shaving renaissance.

True. I'm more of a Lea guy than La Toja's. The reason behind it being the mineral salts content of La Toja. Some people complain about it producing some itches and I'm one of them. I can tolerate it, but I prefer Lea for that reason. I also find it more protective. Just if it had a better scent...
