I noticed that Ballenclaugh is back in business. They recently came up with a new scent called Festive Parlor (leather, citrus, clove) and is a nice soap for this time of year. It has the usual B&C uniqueness when it comes to scent. Aparently they are going to do another run of Woodsman soon as well. Super stoked this awesome artisan is back up and running, by far one of the most underrated artisans. Here are a few others that come to mind:

Crown & Crane
Grandstaff
Viking
MER Shaving
Wild West Shaving Co
Turtleship

In my honest opinion, Institut Karite Shea Shaving Soap is among those underrated soaps.

Lisa's Black Velvet, Amber & Tobacco, Tobacco & Bay and Gentlemans Lavender.  Black Velvet is a favorite  summer scent.  Florida Freeze is a great menthol too

I ordered somali rose and coconut oud - I resisted my AD urges to get every one of the scents that sounded appealing - figured I try it first then decide. I got one in the premium line and the other in the normal line with bentonite and kaolin clay.

Thanks for the tip

I've been eyeing the Somali Rose for a while now, I'm just so content with Chypre Rose Concerto from Wholly Kaw and I try to avoid redundant scents. Like many soaps, Lisa's really opens up once lathered, I start picking up scents I didn't smell off the puck. I would say Tobacco & Bay or Black Velvet is her best scent depending on which day of the week it is. The biggest difference from the original line and the premium line is post shave. That's not to say the original is bad because it's not, I just wish the premium was firmer but it's a minor complaint. Hope you enjoy them!

I have been using some vegan samples from Sudsy Soapery and as a die hard tallow man it pains me to state that so far the shaves have been stellar. Wink

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

MER shaving soaps. Great lathers and really affordable. Also willing to change the amount of fragrance per each customer order.

First Canadian Shave Soap. Was always a good soap at a great price just packaging was bare bone and marketing was lacking. Now under new ownership and the new owner Randy is working hard on updating packaging, labels, marketing, etc.

This is another well established soap brand that doesn't seem to be talked about quite as much as it used to and that's a real shame.  The scent (in this case) is, indeed, true rose, just as promised on the label, the shaving properties are excellent, and the prices (US$10.00 for three ounces and US$15.00 for 6 ounces) are some of the best in the business.

Well said.  I think SC is very much an under appreciated maker.  Great soaps at a great price, and their balms are outstanding.  I think SC Love has a fantastic pure rose scent.  My other SC fav is Serenity, one of the best wood scents I have found.
